WINNIPEG -- Canadian Olympian Brittany Schussler has retired from competitive long-track speedskating. Ethan Pocic Womens Jersey . The 29-year-old from Winnipeg has competed internationally for 13 seasons and this past year was named Speed Skating Canadas top female long-track skater. "Competing with Canada written on my skin suit has been the biggest honour I could ever ask for, and something that I have never taken for granted," Schussler said on her website. "I could not be more proud to be Canadian, and that was never more true than at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The energy and support of the crowd that I felt in my first Olympic race, the 1,000 metres, is perhaps my favourite moment of my entire career." Schussler represented Canada at three Olympic Games. In Vancouver in 2010, she took fifth place in the team pursuit event, 25th in the 1,000 metres and 35th in the 1,500. In Sochi in 2014, she was fifth in the pursuit, 19th in the 3,000 metres, 26th in the 1,500 and 30th in the 1,000. She was also an alternate for the 500-metre and pursuit events at the 2006 Turin Games. Schussler was part of team pursuit squads that won gold at the 2009 and 2011 world single distance long-track championships and silver in 2008 and 2012. She was also part of nine pursuit World Cup gold medals, to go with five silver and a bronze. Individually, she won one World Cup silver and five bronze medals in the 1,500, along with a bronze in the 3,000. Her final medal was a bronze in the 1,500 last November in Astana, Kazakhstan. Schussler is part of the Canadian trio that set the womens pursuit record time of two minutes 55.79 seconds at Calgarys Olympic Oval on Dec. 6, 2009. "The devotion and passion she brought to the sport helped to promote speed skating and values promoted by our sport not only on the ice, but also outside the rink," Speed Skating Canada president Jim Allison said in a release. "Congratulations Brittany and good luck for your next steps." Shaquill Griffin Seahawks Jersey . - Kentucky freshmen Stanley Boom Williams, Dorian Baker, Drew Barker and Tymere Dubose have been charged with disorderly conduct for their involvement with air pistol shots being fired near a residence hall on the South campus Sunday night. Ethan Pocic Youth Jersey . - Florida State has suspended Jameis Winston for the entire game against Clemson on Saturday, extending its initial punishment of one half after the quarterback made offensive and vulgar comments about female anatomy earlier this week.DAVOS, Switzerland -- Doug Shedden says Canada played its best game at the Spengler Cup on Monday. Unfortunately for the Canadians, so did opposing goaltender Tobias Stephan. Stephan made 50 saves and HC Geneve-Servette capitalized on its chances in a 6-5 semifinal win over defending champion Canada. "To me, you lose this game on two words, and thats Toby Stephan," Canada coach Shedden said after the game. "We threw 55 shots at him, and we were all over him with quality chances, and theres no question he was the difference in the game. "Unfortunately thats the game of hockey sometimes. A hot goalie can steal a game, especially in a one-game series." Conversely, Geneva-based Geneve-Servette made the most of their chances, beating the Canadian tandem of Allen York and Matthew Hackett six times on 24 shots. "Geneva really capitalized on the limited chances they got," Shedden said. "It seems like every shot they had was a seeing-eye shot, like under the bar or five-hole . Amara Darboh Seahawks Jersey. .. they were a sharp-shooting team today. "Im not blaming the goalies one bit. It just seems that every chance they got they made the best of it." Alexandre Giroux, Travis Roche and Jacob Micflikier, Darren Haydar and Jason Williams scored for Canada. Former NHL veteran Matthew Lombardi led Geneva with two goals and two assists. Denis Hollenstein, Intio Pestoni, Arnaud Jacquement and Daniel Vukovic scored for Geneva. Canada was trailing 6-3 midway through the third period, but they poured on the pressure and goals at 16:10 from Haydar and 18:18 from Williams made it a one-goal game with time winding down. Stephan, who made 21 of his 50 saves in the third, would not be beaten a sixth time "I thought we had our best game by a mile," Shedden said. "Unfortunately like a hot pitcher in baseball (goaltenders) can beat you some nights." Geneva will play CSKA Moscow in Tuesdays final. Moscow edged host HC Davos 5-4 earlier Monday. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Some might have been surprised Thursday when Robinson told TEAM 1040 radio in Vancouver that skipper Jay DeMerit had been left home to rest so early in the season. But for Robinson, the marathon is as grueling in March as it will be in September. Hes comfortable enough in his squad that well likely see more players left home for longer trips. Flying straight back to Vancouver right after the 0-0 draw with New England allowed players to get home on Saturday night and enjoy two full days off after what has been a taxing, air mile-accumulating couple of months.   From a point gathering perspective, the new Whitecaps boss has also exhibited some proactive substitutions and game management during critical moments in his first three matches. Pedro Morales was brought on in the 65th minute of season opener, which effectively killed the game off. Samson Ebukam Youth Jersey. . At Chivas, Robinson brought on Kekuta Manneh with enough time to rescue a point. And in New England, with a point in his back pocket, he gave Gershon Koffie a long-awaited introduction which infused a tiring team with some bite and balance to lock down that first clean sheet of the season.   Crafting a campaign Those little decisions dont always work. But they did for Caleb Porter, the reigning MLS coach of the year with Portland. The well-travelled Timbers were a team that foraged for every point - especially away from home, where they didnt win a lot of games, but gathered enough draws (or avoided defeat enough) to help reach the Western Conference summit. Many lamented two points lost for Vancouver at an undermanned and unfairly disregarded Chivas team. Some even expected the Whitecaps to beat a New England squad that hadnt won, nor scored after two weeks. But in Carl Robinsons mind, his team earned a point despite a poor performance in LA, and a clean sheet after a nine-hour travel day against a desperate New England team stuck on no goals after two games. Maybe we should start calling the Whitecaps coach a "campaign" manager. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Blackhawks were coming off an ugly loss, and they had the surging Los Angeles Kings coming to town for a rematch of last seasons Western Conference finals. Samaje Perine Redskins Jersey . Enter Jonathan Toews. The Chicago captain set up two of the Blackhawks three first-period goals, leading the defending Stanley Cup champions to a 3-1 victory over Los Angeles on Sunday night. "We got a great start and didnt really let up for the next 40 minutes," Toews said. "It was a much better effort tonight. It doesnt take us long to get back to our good habits." Rookie Antti Raanta made 21 saves to help Chicago bounce back from a 7-3 loss at Toronto on Saturday night. Marian Hossa had a short-handed score that snapped Los Angeles NHL-record streak of 18 games without allowing a first-period goal. "I just tried to keep on doing the right things and tried to find the puck all the time," said Raanta, who was pulled after two periods in the loss to the Maple Leafs. Raanta was working on his first career shutout before Alec Martinez scored at 16:06 of the third. The Kings then had a power-play opportunity when Andrew Shaw was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct. But the Blackhawks managed to kill it off. "We didnt have the puck very much," Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter said. "So a lot of the shots were standing at the blue line or sneaking in. We werent in their zone much, so we werent very effective." Kris Versteeg and Patrick Sharp also scored as Chicago improved to 7-0-2 in the second half of games on back-to-back nights. It was win No. 684 for Joel Quenneville, tying Pat Quinn for fourth on the leagues coaching list. The Kings (22-8-4) had won six in a row and were hoping to complete a perfect four-game trip in the same building where their Stanley Cup title defence ended in June. But the matchup of the NHLs best offensive team and the leagues stingiest defence went to the high-scoring Blackhawks, who have won four of five and lead the NHL with 53 points. "It wasnt the start that we wanted and its hard to play catch-up," Kings centre Anze Kopitar said. "Its quite a bit to overcome when its that kind of team. Its no secret we lost the game in the first period." Ben Scrivens had 37 saves for Los Angeles in his first start since Dec. 2, keeping the Kings in the game with a handful of nice stops in the last two periods. Scrivens and Martin Jones have done a terrific job in goal since Jonathan Quick was shelved by a groin injury last month. The Blackhawks (24-7-5) also were without their top goaltender, Corey Crawford. The 29-year-old Crawford is out with a lower-body injury, and its unclear when he might return. Raanta has started every game since Crawford went down on Dec. 8. He made his best stop against Los Angeles in the second, sticking his right skate out to turn away Kopitar on a prime opportunity. "It shows a lot that a young rookie goaltender like him can come back and play with confidence like he did tonight," Toews said. Chicago beat Los Angeles in five games in the playoffs, and went on to win the title for the second time in four seasons. The series against the Kings culminated with a hat trick for Patrick Kane in the deciding game, including the decisive score in the second overtime off a pass from Toews. Toews picked up right where he left off in the first game of his season between two of the NHLs best teams. First, he won a battle for the puck with Los Angeles defenceman Jake Muzzin behind the Kings net, and then threw it in front for Hossas 14th goal at 5:45 of the first. After Versteeg scored on a 2-on-1 break, Toews made a great cross-ice pass to Sharp for a power-play goal that made it 3-0 with 29 seconds left in the period. "I think Jonathan Toews in the first period pretty much just said, OK boys, my time there," Sutter said. NOTES: It was Bryan Bickell bobblehead night, but the big forward remained out with a lower-body injury. Quenneville said Bickell probably will accompany the team to Nashville for Tuesdays game against the Predators, but its more likely he returns on Friday against Vancouver. "He did well today," Quenneville said, "so hes close." ... Kings D Willie Mitchell was scratched due to an illness. He played in each of Los Angeles first 33 games of the season. ... Quenneville said goaltender Jason LaBarbera "could be in the mix" with the Blackhawks soon. LaBarbera was acquired in a trade with Edmonton on Saturday and assigned to Rockford in the AHL. Ryan Anderson Youth Jersey . -- Alex Anthopoulos spoke volumes with what he didnt say on right-hander Ervin Santana. Jonathan Allen Womens Jersey . Rob Klinkhammer and Mikkel Boedker scored 63 seconds apart in the first period for the Coyotes, who handed the Kings their third straight loss and took over sole possession of eighth place in the Western Conference. Mike Smith made 36 saves. MIAMI -- Zack Wheeler and the New York Mets got the best of Andrew Heaney during the Marlins prospects major league debut. Wheeler tossed his first shutout and made David Wrights first-inning home run hold up in the Mets 1-0 victory over Miami on Thursday night. "He showed you exactly what weve been talking about all along -- plus stuff. Tremendous, great effort," Mets manager Terry Collins said of Wheeler. "He went after them. It was his night." Wheeler (3-7) outdueled Heaney in the longest outing of the Mets starters career. "It feels great, I know I can do it every time out," Wheeler said. "I know I have the stuff. It finally feels good to go out there and do it and be efficient with my pitches and get ahead of guys." New York, which won at St. Louis on Wednesday, has consecutive victories for the first time since a three-game streak from May 31-June 2. The Mets had dropped eight straight on the road before Wednesday. Wheeler, the No. 6 pick in the 2009 draft, struck out eight. He allowed three hits and one walk, and 70 of his 111 pitches were strikes. He pitched to only one batter over the minimum and was helped by three double plays. "Anytime somebody gets on, whether it be a walk or hit, you just try to make a pitch and get a double play. I was able to do that," Wheeler said. The 24-year old right-hander lowered his ERA to 0.96 in four starts against the Marlins. "He didnt miss over the plate much," Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia said. "He was really good with locating his pitches off the plate. He threw a lot of fastballs, like we expected, but he didnt leave anything over the plate. "Youve got to tip your cap to a guy who pitched a great game." Heaney (0-1) gave up four hits in six innings, allowing only Wrights home run. The 23-year old lefty, the ninth pick in the 2012 draft, struck out three and walked one. "He did a nice job, gave us a chance and kept us in the game," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "He gave up one pitch to a really good hitter for a home run and that was it. He executed his pitches, got hiis pitch count up high early, but then settled in. Ryan Anderson Jersey. "All in all it was a good start for him." It was a battle between two young starters that could see a lot of each other in coming years in the NL East. "Thats what the game is coming to," Collins said. "The game is changing where those big power arms are coming up in every organization, and theyre all young." Heaney allowed an infield hit to Eric Young, Jr. to begin the game, but got Daniel Murphy to bounce into a double play. Wright then hit his sixth homer of the season off the sculpture in deep left-centre field. No one else got into scoring position against Heaney. "I had no expectations, to be honest," Heaney said. "I just wanted to pitch well. I felt early on I didnt know how it was going to go. It was kind of on the edge with every guy. From that fourth inning on I got into a rhythm." Bryan Morris relieved Heaney in the seventh and faced a bases loaded situation, but he got Wheeler to ground out and end the threat. Wheeler, who made his much-anticipated debut a year and a day before Heaney, complimented his mound opponent. "I sat on the bench in between innings and just watched him, knowing that I was there not too long ago and knowing how he felt," Wheeler said. "He has a good arm, and I think hes going to do well." Kevin Gregg pitched the ninth in his season debut with Miami. He earned 61 saves for the Marlins in 2007-08. Reed Johnson singled in the ninth off Wheeler with two outs, but Rafael Furcal lined out to centre to end the game. Wheeler threw a 95 mph fastball on his final pitch. "I still had plenty," Wheeler said. NOTES: Mets OF Kirk Nieuwenhuis was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, and OF Matt den Dekker was optioned to Las Vegas. ... Marlins slugger RF Giancarlo Stanton went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts after coming out of Wednesdays game because of a bruised left wrist. ... NORTH BAY, Ont. Chidobe Awuzie Cowboys Jersey . -- Jason Dickinson and Pius Suter had two goals each as the Guelph Storm routed the North Bay Battalion 10-1 on Wednesday to take a 3-1 lead in the Ontario Hockey League final. Scott Kosmachuk scored and had three assists for Guelph, while Kerby Rychel and Robby Fabbri had a goal and two assists apiece. Matt Finn, Zac Leslie and Tyler Bertuzzi chipped in as well. Goalie Justin Nichols made 22 saves for the win. "We have a lot guys chipping in, if one guy is not going one night the next guy is. You just have to work on keeping things simple and getting pucks in. Things are just clicking right now," said Kosmachuk. Nick Paul was the lone scorer for North Bay. Jake Smith stopped 16-of-23 shots faced in 38:11 of work, while Brendan ONeill turned aside 15-of-18 shots in relief. "It was a disappointing loss, they got the jump on us early and we didnt recover from that and the game spiralled from that," said North Bay coach Stan Butler. The Storm scored on two of their three power plays, while the Battalion could not convert any of their three man advantages. Guelph struck early, scoring three goals in the first frame, including two by Suter. The centre opened the scoring just four minutes into the game and added to the Storms lead with a short-handed goal at the tail end of the period to make it 3-0. The other goal came at the 11-minute mark from Kosmachuck. All told the Battalion were outshot 14-4 in the period. "We werent emotionally attached to the game early on. We seem to play better when we get intense and involved," Guelph head coach Scott Walker said. "I thought the players did a heck of a job staying disciplined." It didnt get much better for the home team in the second. Leslie scored on the Storms first shot on net and, just 90 seconds later, Dickinson blew the game wide open with his seventh of the playoffs. Smith was finally pulled from the Battalions net after Bertuzzi made it 7-0 with less than two minutes to go in the period. But ONeill didnt fare much better, surrendering a goal before the buzzer. "In playoffs youve got to have a very short memory, because if you dont youre going to dwell on things that are going to affect you going forward. Are we disappointed? Obviously. Are we upset? Extremely. Are we frustrated? No. We got to play a lot better on Friday night," said Butler. North Bays lone bright spot was Pauls goal midway through the third. Rychel and Finn responded for the Storm in period. Game 5 is Friday in Guelph, Ont. "We have a very good leadership group in our room," said Kosmachuk. "They know its not going to be easy. We have to be on our toes and play hard." North Bay has already battled back in the playoffs after being down 3-1. They eliminated the Niagara IceDogs in seven games in the first round of the playoffs. The last time Guelph won the OHL championship was in 2004. Chidobe Awuzie Womens Jersey . KVITFJELL, Norway -- Erik Guay has never been a fan of skiing with pain but is showing he can adapt and overcome. The native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., captured a World Cup downhill event Saturday, his second this year and fifth career victory on the circuit. And it came on one of his favourite courses as two of his victories and four of his 22 podium finishes have come at Kvitfjell, where theres a super-G scheduled for Sunday. "There are a lot of similarities (between Norway and Quebec)," Guay said during a conference call. "When I left Quebec it was raining and warm and thats pretty much exactly what its here but it can easily be -30 C, again, a lot like Quebec. "I feel comfortable when I come here." Guay finished fourth in a downhill event Friday. The impressive showings came following a respectable 10th-place effort in the downhill at the Sochi Games. But Guay said he battled knee issues in Russia. He had knee surgery in the summer and claimed a World Cup downhill in Val Gardena, Italy, in December but didnt feel anywhere near 100 per cent in Sochi. "It (knee) affected me a lot," he said. "I have a hard time skiing through pain, I have a hard time really finding that courage, that determination to fight through it and push on the ski. "I was trying not to mention it too much in the media because I wanted to put it out of my head completely and sort of pretend and focus that it wasnt even there. You definitely have that on the brain and it was affecting me because I couldnt do a proper preparation for the Games." However, Guay said hes working on improving his mental ability to deal with injury much like teammate Jan Hudec of Calgary, who has overcome numerous ailments to succeed on the world scene. "The ideal situation is to not have that pain and I plan to deal with it in the off-season," Guay said. "Right now Im trying to work through it and I think its an important thing. "If I look at a guy like Jan Hudec, probably one of his biggest strengths is that strength and character he shows when he has those injuries. I know he skiis in a lot of pain so I like to watch those circumstances and try to emulate them. Its not always easy for me. I think when I dont feel 100 per cent its tough for me to go out and attack it but id like to think its getting better." Guay, 32, finished ahead of Frenchman Johan Clarey and Olympic champion Matthias Mayer of Austria. American Travis Ganong, who was third Friday, narrowly missed out on another podium, finishing 0.62 seconds back in fourth. Taco Charlton Cowboys Jersey. Bode Miller, a bronze medallist in the super-G at the Sochi Olympics, was eighth. Conditions were overcast and a little foggy but unlike Fridays downhill the rain stayed away. Guay had a time of one minute 22.17 seconds, finishing 0.35 seconds ahead of Clarey -- who secured a third career podium. "Its difficult conditions, soft snow. I think you need a really well-balanced touch," Guay said. "If youre too aggressive or leaning in a little bit, its easy to lose (time)." Jeffrey Frisch of Mont-Tremblant finished 17th while Manuel Osborne-Paradis of North Vancouver, B.C., was 21st. Benjamin Thomsen of Invermere, B.C., was 43rd, finishing one spot ahead of Hudec. Other Canadians included: Conrad Pridy of Whistler, B.C., (50th), Torontos Dustin Cook (59th) and Morgan Pridy of Whistler (60th). Meanwhile, it was the best result of Clareys career. "It shows anything can happen, even late on. Better late than never," Clarey said. "Im not hugely confident at the moment and the Olympics were difficult for me to cope with mentally." Clarey had pondered retirement after the Sochi Games, where he didnt finish the downhill and was 19th in super-G. "This changes my ideas a little bit from a psychological point of view," he said. "Even though my knees still pretty banged up." Despite already having an Olympic gold medal, the 23-year-old Mayer clinched his first career podium in World Cup downhill and only his third overall. "I had a lot of things to do, with celebrating the Olympic victory back home. I hadnt much time for me to be prepared," Mayer said. "I can be happy with this result. Its very difficult to be fast here, with the soft snow its not the best conditions." Ganong finished fifth in the downhill at the Sochi Olympics. "I really thought I could (win), so I pushed a little harder and had a couple mistakes. I was able to make up a lot of time on the bottom and salvage fourth place," he said. "Its really fun skiing right now. Im having a good time and the results are coming." Olympic super-G champion Kjetil Jansrud of Norway, who tied for the win Friday with Austrian Georg Streitberger, placed fifth. "I made a couple of mistakes which I didnt think I would make," Jansrud said. "Fell on my inside ski a couple of times, I had to support myself on my hand." MONACO, Monaco - Michel Platini wont fight Sepp Blatter for the FIFA presidency, though he still hopes somebody will. Wholesale Browns Jerseys . The UEFA president decided Thursday not to challenge Blatter in an election next May, insisting he was not dodging a battle with his former mentor. Platini denied FIFA critics a potentially bitter contest, but then urged more conflict within the Blatter-led executive committee. His decision, which was expected, leaves the 78-year-old Blatter clear to win a fifth presidential term — possibly unopposed for a third straight time. Platini will focus instead on being re-elected to lead European football in March and a probable FIFA candidacy in 2019. "Now is not my time, not yet," the 59-year-old Platini said at a news conference after meeting leaders of Europes 54 football federations. "I hope that somebody will oppose Mr. Blatter and nobody will oppose me for UEFA." Platini, a FIFA vice-president, then challenged his colleagues to be "braver" standing up to Blatters power. "To bring ideas and want to change things and not just be sheep who always say yes," Platini said through a translator. The former France great seemed likely to avoid a FIFA contest after a successful World Cup strengthened Blatters position as president, which he has held since 1998. Blatter already has support from FIFAs other five continental confederations. Leaders of most of the 209 member countries have shown little desire for change as successful World Cups have raised FIFA cash reserves close to $1.5 billion. Platini dismissed one description of a contest against Blatter as "unwinnable." "No, my choice was not based on who was running," said Platini, who recalled beating another longtime sitting president, Lennart Johansson, for the UEFA job in 2007. "So I cant be accused of being afraid of Mr. Blatter." UEFA members were meeting for the first time since they confronted Blatter in Brazil in June over his style of leadership and alleged corruption implicating FIFA. They also reminded the veteran Swiss official of his 2011 promise to step aside after his current mandate. That hostile encounter in Sao Paulo on the eve of the World Cup fueled speculation of a FIFA challenge by Platini or a senior UEFA nominee. "We went for peace. I think it is the logical decision," Iceland football association president Geir Thorsteinsson told The Associated Press on Thursday. In Brazil, one option emerged for UEFA to put Netherlands federation president Michael van Praag as a candidate after he delivered Europes blunt message to Blatter. Van Praag dismissed that option Thursday. "It wont be me," the UEFA board member told the BBC. "There was no backing because (UEFA members) also believe that if our candidate is not being Michel Platini, he wont have any chance at all." Platini opting out could prompt another candidate to launch a challenge, Van Praag suggested. "Now it is known that he doesnt do it so maybe there is somebody else in the world who thinks, Now I have a chance," the Dutchman said. Platini said he would "support him or her that will bring something new to world football and will defend the interests of European football." "I know some of you were expecting me to attack FIFA but that is not my goal here," Platini said. "Quite obviously we want a FIFA that works better, more transparency, more solidarity and more respected by those that love football." Platini, whose campaigning for Blatter in 1998 helped defeat Johansson for the vacant presidency, now questioned the integrity of the FIFA presidents public statements. "Im not sure he always believes what he says," Platini said, referring to Blatters recent support for video replay, coaches challenges of referee decisions and additional substitutes in extra time. "I think deep down he is against all that." FIFA has set a late-January deadline for candidates to declare for the secret ballot scheduled for May 29 in Zurich. BOSTON - After failing to get off to a quick start and a nearly poor finish, the Boston Bruins rallied for a victory that they found difficult to celebrate. Derek Rivers Jersey .Dougie Hamilton scored 3:39 into overtime, giving the Bruins a 2-1 win over Winnipeg on Friday night after giving the Jets a four-minute power play late in regulation.I think we really wanted a good start, didnt have it and squeaked the two points like we have in the past, said Hamilton, who also had an assist on Milan Lucics goal that tied it early in the third period. I dont know how we do it, but two points is two points, I guess.Tuukka Rask had 35 saves, including 15 in the third period and one more in overtime near the end of the Jets golden opportunity to win it.Rask gloved a shot by Andrew Ladd 27 seconds into overtime, and instead of holding on for a whistle, darted out of the crease and dumped the puck out of Bostons zone.Youre just in survival mode there, Rask said. You try to secure that point, and we did a pretty good job for the most part, but we still had a lot of chances to get the puck out and we couldnt. We got it tied and then I think after that we still made some mistakes we had to clear, but (a) good way to find a win.Carl Soderberg assisted on both goals for Boston, which has not lost to the Jets franchise in Boston since the then-Atlanta Thrashers beat the Bruins 3-2 in March 2007.Rask didnt allow anything to get past him after Dustin Byfugliens power-play goal gave the Jets a 1-0 lead with 3:36 left in the first period.I thought we played all right, Byfuglien said. Weve played better. We let it get away from us.Michael Hutchinson stopped 36 shots for Winnipeg, including a flurry of late chances for Boston that followed mistakes by the Jets.Boston had the better opportunities following Brad Marchands double-minor penalty with 3:30 left in the third when his stick clipped Grant Clitsome in the head behind the Jets net.Boston almost converted it into a short-handed goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Daniel Paille stole the puck from Hutchinson and passed it toward Gregory Campbell in the slot, but Hutchinson recovered with a glove save. The Bruins also missed on a pair of rebounds early in overtime. We had chances all game long, said Hutchinson, a third-round draft pick for Boston in 2008. They had a couple pushes here and there and they had some chances, too, but I thought it was a good hockey game. Both teams had chances, and Tuukka (Rask) is a good goalie. He is going to make you work for every goal you get.Boston tied it 1-1 on Lucics goal 3:05 into the third on a give-and-go with Carl Soderberg, whose pass back to Lucic in front of the net set up an easy backhanded tip. Hamilton also got an assist. It was Bostons first goal since Lucic and Joe Morrow scored 28 seconds apart early in the second period of a 3-2 overtime loss to Pittsburgh on Monday night.NOTES: The floor crew at TD Garden had to do a quick turnaround following the Boston Celtics 109-102 loss to Chicago on Friday afternoon. ... Winnipeg LW Adam Lowry served his one-game suspension for a hit on Patrick Kaleta in Buffalo on Wednesday. He was assessed a major penalty for boarding and was ejected. ... Boston C Chris Kelly returned after missing two games with an undisclosed upper-body injury. ... The Bruins played their last of four of five at home before starting a four-game Western Conference trip Monday in Anaheim. Deatrich Wise Jr. Youth Jersey . -- Theres been so much talk about Mike Moustakas at the plate that the third baseman ignored the conversation Wednesday -- even after doing something positive. Antonio Garcia Patriots Jersey . Lynn was tied for 16th entering the fourth round, six shots behind leader Paul Waring. He started with two birdies and added three more on his last five holes at the Oceanico Victoria course for an 18-under total of 266.WINNIPEG - Two teams share the top of the standings on the womens sides at the Canadian Olympic Curling trials, with Jennifer Jones and Val Sweeting sit at 3-1. Sweeting is technically in the lead among the women, thanks to handing Jones her only loss so far. But at this point, its what happens next that all 16 teams know matters most. "It will be the turning point Wednesday, Thursday, obviously," said Heather Nedohin, who handed Sweeting her first loss with a last rock draw to win a tight game 6-5. "I dont think anyone at the trials ever has done this undefeated," said Sweeting. "I thought we just got outplayed." Both teams curl out of the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton. Nedohin sits in a four-team logjam below the leaders at 2-2 with Nedohin and Renee Sonnenberg at 1-3, a sppot unlikely to give them a shot at moving on. Deatrich Wise Jr. Jersey. "Three losses is going to be tough to make it in," said the skip from Grande Prairie, Alta. "If we can finish above .500 thats a feather in our hat too." Jones dominated Sonnenberg from start to finish Tuesday shaking hands at 7-2 after the eighth. It was a solid comeback after Monday nights 9-6 loss to Sweeting, which included a disastrous four in the seventh end. "I dont know if we gave it away, we just made too many mistakes so it wasnt our best effort," said Jones. "I thought we bounced back as well as could have today." Saskatoons Stefanie Lawton earned her second win with a 7-5 decision over Winnipegs Chelsea Carey and in an all-Ontario game. Sherry Middaugh bowed 6-5 to Rachel Homan in an extra end. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- Daniel Carcillo scored the tiebreaking goal 4:36 into the third period, and the New York Rangers completed a two-game sweep of the outdoor series with a 2-1 victory over the New York Islanders at frigid Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night. Cheap Orleans Darkwa Jersey . Building off their 7-3 win over New Jersey at the ballpark in the Bronx on Sunday, the Rangers took out another division rival under the lights in front of 50,027 fans. The temperature was 22 degrees when the first puck dropped at 7:45 p.m. with a single-digit wind-chill factor. It got progressively colder as the night went on. Benoit Pouliot also scored for the Rangers, who are 3-0 in their history while playing outside. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 30 shots while again adorning pinstriped pads in honour of the Yankees. The only goal he allowed was a late second-period tally to Brock Nelson that gave the Islanders a short-lived 1-0 lead. The Rangers evened the season series with the Islanders 2-2. The teams will play for the final time this season on Friday at Madison Square Garden. Wearing a ski cap with a pompom atop his mask, Evgeni Nabokov had 32 saves for the Islanders, who made their outdoor debut. Road teams are 9-1-1 in NHL outside games. Carcillo fired in a rebound of Dominic Moores shot for his third goal of the season, helping drop the Islanders to 0-3-1 in the last four games. With both teams struggling to control the puck early, it took nearly 39 minutes for the scoreless deadlock to be broken by the Islanders and then 40 seconds for the Rangers to get back even. The Islanders built up a big lead in shots, but couldnt get any past Lundqvist -- despite getting the first three power plays and a 2-minute stint of 4-on-4 play. When Islanders forward Kyle Okposo went off for holding, and took Rangers forward Rick Nash with him for embellishing with 9:49 left in the second period, the Islanders held a 21-10 edge in shots. By the time the period was over, the Rangers had cut it to 25-20. The Islanders grabbed a 1-0 lead with 1:27 left in the second, using a fine three-way passing play to go in front. Cal Clutterbuck managed to fling the puck from the left circle into the middle as he fell to the ice. He connected with defenceman Matt Donovan, who quickly moved the pass to his right to Nelson, who fired a shot past Lundqvist for his 10th goal. Before the goal was announced to the cheering and shivering sold-out crowd, the Rangers tied it with Pouliots ninth of the season. Derick Brassard did hard work from the back edge of the left post, worked the puck free and slid it in front past the prone Nabokov who was down in the crease. Pouliot gathered it and scored into a fairly open net with 46.3 seconds remaining in the second. Both teams dealt with a bouncing puck during the scoreless first period, and Islanders forward Thomas Vanek had a puck hop over his stick from right in front of Lundqvist early in the second. Nabokov was playing in his first full game since returning on Monday from a lower-body injury that forced him to miss 10 games. He backed up Kevin Poulin in a 6-3 loss to Boston on Monday, but came on in relief for the third period and stopped the only shot he faced. He showed no signs of rust or difficulty playing out in the cold. Nabokov drank from a steaming cup at the bench during a break in the second period. Lundqvist looked comfortable at the other end, playing on the Yankee Stadium ice for the second time in four days. Since giving up three goals in the first period against New Jersey on Sunday following a pregame nap, Lundqvist allowed just one over the next five frames. While the Rangers had louder support in the stands, despite this being an Islanders home game, both sides were well represented and occasionally traded chants of "Lets Go Rangers!" and "Lets Go Islanders!" There were no visible signs of empty seats, even up in the far reaches of the upper deck that stretch into right-centre and left-centre field. NOTES: Okposo had a six-game point streak snapped. Nash had a five-game goal run broken. ... CeeLo Green performed between the first and second periods. He wore a long fur coat. ... The Islanders were 0 for 4 on the power play, including one at the end of the game Cheap Paul Perkins Jersey . The 18-time champions, who havent won the title since 1990, moved two points behind Arsenal after the leaders were stunned 6-3 at Manchester City on Saturday. Defending champion Manchester United trails Arsenal by 10 points after winning 3-0 at Aston Villa to avoid a third successive league loss.Wholesale New York Giants Jerseys . Ribery terrorized the Schalke defence throughout and put the home side ahead in the 36th minute when he chipped the goalkeeper before stroking the ball into the empty net. The French winger struck again after the interval, combining with Thomas Mueller on the left before firing a deflected shot beyond the helpless Timo Hildebrand in the 55th, as Bayern bounced back from Wednesdays 1-0 loss at FC Basel in the Champions League.KAMLOOPS, B.C. - John Morris and his B.C. rink held on to top spot at the Canadian mens curling championship Tuesday afternoon with a 9-3 thumping of New Brunswick in eight ends. B.C. beat Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories 7-2 in the morning and, at least until the evening draw, were alone with a record of six wins and only one loss at the Tim Hortons Brier. Kevin Koe of Alberta was in second at 5-1 thanks to a 9-3 win over Jeff Currie from Northeern Ontario. Cheap Wayne Gallman Jersey. Manitobas Jeff Stoughton recovered from a 7-2 loss in the morning to steal two in 10 and beat winless Nova Scotia 8-6. Newfoundland and Labradors Brad Gushue retained at least faint hope of making the playoffs with an 8-5 win over James Grattan of New Brunswick. But after dropping a morning game 7-6 to Saskatchewan, the 2006 Olympic champion says there is no room left for more losses if they want to stay alive. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

NEW YORK -- They have gone from disappointment to dominant, a team that was booed on its home floor and now rarely loses there. Dez Bryant Cowboys Jersey . And pretty soon, the Brooklyn Nets will also be a playoff team. Pierce scored 22 points after another sensational start, and the Nets moved to the brink of a post-season spot by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-99 on Sunday for their franchise record-tying 13th straight home victory. "First part of the season was rough on us with injuries and everything that we went through, and it feels good," guard Deron Williams said. "It feels good to be able to turn it around." Pierce scored 16 in the first quarter, two nights after putting up 17 in the period, and didnt miss a shot in either. He couldnt keep it going after asking for a rest so he would stay fresh to defend Kevin Love, but the Nets had to plenty more to pull away. Joe Johnson added 19 points for the Nets, who were 10-21 when they reached the new year, but will clinch a playoff spot with either another win or a loss by the New York Knicks. A post-season berth was viewed as a sure thing when the Nets acquired Pierce and Kevin Garnett while assembling a team that would cost more than $180 million, but they struggled early and then lost leading scorer Brook Lopez to a season-ending foot injury. "I think a lot of teams with bad character, bad leadership in the locker room wouldve laid down a long time ago. Probably by Christmas wouldve been making summer plans," Pierce said. "But not this group." Andray Blatche had 14 points and three players finished with 13 for the Nets. Brooklyn equaled the longest home winning streak in the NBA this season and the best in the history of the franchise, done twice in 2002 when the Nets were still based in New Jersey. They have won 20 of their last 22 games at Barclays Center. Corey Brewer and Kevin Martin each scored 21 for the Timberwolves, who had won two in row and were coming off the highest-scoring game in the NBA this season, when they scored a franchise-record 143 points in a rout of the Lakers on Friday. But they had only 17 in the fourth quarter of this one as Brooklyn surged to the finish. Love finished with just 14 points and nine rebounds for the Wolves, shooting 5-of-14 and saying afterward he felt "exhausted" and was perhaps getting sick. "I couldnt find any energy in the second half and that was really it," Love said. The Nets led by one early in the fourth quarter, but got three 3-pointers from Alan Anderson in a 13-4 spurt that gave them a 98-88 lead with 6:51 remaining, and Pierce later added a 3 to make it a 13-point cushion. Brooklyn finished off a 12-4 March, matching the team record for victories in the month set in 2006 and hopes to have Kevin Garnett and Andrei Kirilenko back from injuries by the end of the upcoming week. Pierce, who scored 17 points in the first quarter Friday, had 16 points on 6-of-6 shooting by the time he checked out after 10 minutes to open this one. He is 10 for 10 from the field, 8 or 8 on 3-pointers, in 17 minutes over the last two first quarters, and this is the first time in his career that hes scored at least 16 in consecutive first quarters. The Nets led 30-27 after one and opened a 49-36 lead on Mirza Teletovics 3-pointer with 6:11 remaining in the second quarter. Minnesota whittled that down to 59-54 by the break. The Wolves charged out of the locker room with a 15-4 run to open a 69-63 lead a little under 4 minutes into the third quarter. But the Nets, who had rarely trailed in the second half during their streak, quickly regrouped behind Johnson and Shaun Livingston to move back in front and take an 85-82 lead to the fourth. NOTES: The Nets said before the game that Garnett, who has missed 16 straight games with back spasms, is hoping to play next weekend or during their trip to Florida on April 8 and 9. Kirilenko is targeting a mid-week return from a sprained left ankle. ... Johnson became the 15th active player with 17,000 career points. Pierce and Garnett have already done it. ... Oklahoma City also had 13 straight home wins from Nov. 3-Dec. 19. Sean Lee Cowboys Jersey . Pinch-hitter Tommy Medica singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Padres beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 in their first home game since Gwynn died of cancer Monday. Cole Beasley Cowboys Jersey . The Canadian Football Leagues all-time passing leader said he has not made a final decision, but he will discuss his future with Montreal Alouettes owner Bob Wetenhall on the weekend. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added international receiver Romby Bryant and international defensive back Troy Stoudermire to their roster on Sunday. The 34-year-old was cut by the Toronto Argonauts last week after an injury shortened 2013 season. This will be Bryants second stint with the Blue Bombers. The Tulsa product had his best year in 2010 with the Calgary Stampeders when he recorded 1, 170 yards receiving with 15 touchdowns. Jason Witten Jersey. In six seasons with the Stampeders, Blue Bombers and Argonauts, Bryant has 4,557 yards receiving with 33 touchdowns. Temptations are meant to make learners stronger in their endeavors. They should be the factors behind their failure and downfall in their pursuit of academic excellence. Students must excel in all ways if they are to live up to the expectations of the society. Working on a writing project presents temptations that overwhelm many students. Some students opt to settle on the project and forget about classes for the best part of the semester. They would rather have an incomplete in their grades instead of failing in coursework requirements that are building blocks of their GPA. Using the ... more
